When exposed to water, aquagenic wrinkling of the palms (AWP) generates moderate papules and plaques on the palmar skin, as well as wrinkling and edema. The majority of individuals affected are young women, and there is a relationship between AWP and cystic fibrosis (CF). Using two separate imaging techniques, high-resolution optical coherence tomography and reflectance confocal microscopy, two non-CF cases of AWP were studied.
