I think Niners Nation fan reedkrase summed it up pretty well when he said:Cam Inman makes his own predictions in the link below. 49ers camp preview: 10 who could start on injury listsFor years Stephanie McCarroll did a wonderful job explaining why so many players start training camp on the PUP list along with providing Niners Nation with the rules regarding the difference between the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform), the Non-Football Injury (NFI) and IR (Injured Reserve) rules, and used examples of 49ers players heading into each training camp. I could not possibly write anything even close to the quality of her articles, therefore I am providing a link to last years article.NFL PUP list, Injured Reserve Joe Staley Jersey , NFI List rulesIt is an amazingly well written article and I highly encourage anyone that has not read it to take the time. I personally could see everyone that was sidelined during the OTAs starting training camp on the PUP list. In other news, I was surprised by the 49ers cutting Erik Magnuson and Alex Brown yesterday. While I would not have picked them as favorites to make the fifty three man roster, I thought Alex Brown might have given guys like Tim Brown a fight for their money and Magnuson would have at least stuck around as a camp body. I think NN fan Mertons Merkin did a nice job of summing up my personal feelings of the 49ers scouts discontent with the coaching staff:Anyway, it is nice to finally get back to football and some real news, I am looking forward to all of the daily interviews and numerous camp reports that will be coming in volume over the next few weeks. Now onto those sizzling hot links:Garoppolo’s return buoys 49ers, but the hype has diminished considerablyEric Branch49ers camp preview: 10 who could start on injury listsCam Inman49ers pass rusher Dee Ford ranked No. 67 on NFL Top 100 listDavid Bonilla‘Top 100 Players of 2019’: San Francisco 49ers defensive end Dee Ford | No. 67Video49ers 2019 Training Camp Primer: Defensive LineRichard Madrid49ers 2019 Training Camp Primer: Offensive TacklesJustin WongMarquise Goodwin still hasn’t gotten his “40 Yards of Gold” prizeMike FlorioJimmy Garoppolo gets a boost from newcomers at RB, WRVinnie Iyer49ers training camp: 1 player to watch from each position groupKyle MadsonCamp Questions7 Lingering Questions Ahead of 49ers Training CampKelana Martin49ers training camp questions: Which wide receivers will earn spots?Matt MaioccoCan the young receivers hit the ground running?Chris BidermanTwo players cut49ers waive Erik MagnusonCharean Williams49ers waive cornerback Alex BrownDarin GanttTwo players signed49ers 2nd-round pick Deebo Samuel signs rookie contractKyle Madson49ers Solomon Thomas Color Rush Jersey , Nick Bosa agree to rookie contractKirstie ChiappelliMarginalized 49er scoutsReport suggests 49ers’ scouting staff feels marginalizedMichael David SmithSome 49ers scouts feel powerless and are considering leaving, per reportDavid Bonilla One player we’ve heard about. The other, you may have heard about."Mock drafts are getting more and more consistent as the days go on. We’re just over a month away from the 2019 NFL Draft and getting confirmation to this Arizona Cardinals/Kyler Murray business and how the 49ers will react. Today’s mock draft is a two-rounder put together by NBC Sports’ Ben Standig. The first round is what we’ve been seeing with great redundancy as of late: the Cardinals take Oklahoma quarterbackKyler Murray, the 49ers take Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa. Here’s what Standig said about the 49ers pick of Bosa:We’ve heard this scenario before, but what does Standig have for the 49ers taking in the second round? Well that would be Alabama safety Deionte Thompson going with pick 36:N’Keal Harry goes with the very next pick (pick 37) to the New York Giants. So if the 49ers wanted to grab the wide receiver, he’s certainly available. As far as other safeties on the board, Washington’s Taylor Rapp goes at 39 and Mississippi State’s Johnathan Abram goes at 41. My issues with Thompson are just the same as pointed out above. I wasn’t a fan of his playoff performance (his CFP National Championship game in particular left something to be desired) https://www.49ersfanshop.com/Mike-Mcglinchey-Jersey , but what I saw during the regular season, man. I could still manage to look the other way for his playoff performance, but the injury thing doesn’t resonate well. The 49ers have enough of the players getting injured—but there’s no telling if he’d injure himself again so knocking him for a wrist injury may be a bit much. That said, Thompson has a high ceiling and could be the answer at free safety. It’s just a matter of if the 49ers would want to go that direction instead of cornerback or wide receiver. The Bosa/Allen/Williams debate will continue in the comments, but what do you think of Thompson? Is he the answer at free safety?
